I recently retired from the laptop life to work where my heart is – as a musician, massage therapist, and pet sitter! It really is the best thing to love your work! I have been watching and walking pets for a few years now. It started in earnest after the last of “my pack” died of old age in 2013. I had never been without a dog, and I missed canine companionship greatly! So I decided that, as long as life circumstances prevented me from having my own to care for, I would at least take the opportunity to help out other pet owners care for theirs. Since then, I have mostly done lengthy home stays, along with some walking and medical support visits.

Petsitting has been overwhelmingly awesome; the best parts are easy to list! I love that taking a walk together is the ultimate hang and good grounds for a friendship. I like having a great reason to get outside for some exercise and sunshine, or hit the ground for playtime or a belly rub. I like the responsibility of taking great care of a creature, whatever that means for the particular situation. And, having been in the shoes of the owner who needs a sitter, I definitely get the value of knowing that your pet is ok and well cared for when you can’t be there.

Hi, I’m Marina! I’ve lived in Louisville my entire life and am proud to call this city home. I work full time at a credit card processing company in Client Services, helping manage our partner portfolios. I also sell Scentsy on the side, and always up to exercise as time permits. I am also a volunteer with the Kentucky Humane Society, and with Slugger City Bully Buddies and have attended and assisted in several of their training classes.

Everyone who knows me knows my love and passion for animals, big or small. I always had a “zoo” growing up, which ranged from gerbils, hedgehogs, bearded dragons, rabbits, cats, turtles, fish, guinea pigs, and of course, dogs. I got my first cat furbaby, who lived to be 18, when I was 8 years old. We went through everything together and had a very special bond. My very first dog was Brandy, a shepherd mix I got when I was 13, is still with me today. She can’t hear anymore and she has accidents but I know the love and loyalty she’s given me is nothing compared to the minor accidents. Along with Brandy at 15; I have Zeek, an 11 y/o rescued Rott mix; Fidelis, a 6 y/o Rottweiler; and Bailey, a 3 y/o rescued Pitbull.

Without my dogs, my house would be clean, my wallet would be full, but my heart would be empty! I look forward to caring for your babies just as well as I would care for my own.

Hi! My name is Dana Eckert and I am so thrilled to be working at Paws and caring for your furry family members! I absolutely love all animals and feel very passionate about their care and well-being. I have grown up with animals and have a lot of experience with healthy and sick animals, both young and old. I have a special place in my heart for the elderly animals. I have had dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, rats, and fish. I will stop traffic for an animal and have on many occasions (for kittens/cats, dogs, turtles and a raccoon once).

I have been a social worker for 28 years in many different fields (child protection, domestic violence, adoption, medical/hospital, mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities). I have a wonderful husband, three great human children, and one lovely furry child. I spend most days working, being a taxi service for the kids, helping with homework, and being a soccer mom. I also love to read and do volunteer work for many different places like my church, my children’s school, St. Vincent de Paul soup kitchen, and My Dog Eats First.

I have a very flexible schedule and wonderful family support so that I am able to care for your fur children. It is a joy and a gift to be invited to play and love your pets while you are away.

My name is Pam Fasteen and I am so excited to have an opportunity to care for and love on your animals! I never pass up an opportunity to pet a dog at the park or go talk to and pet the kitties at Feeders Supply. I love them all and could spend all day just giving them all attention. I love them all!

My husband, Jim, and I have three dogs (all large-breed rescue mutts), and three sweet cats, each with a unique personality. We have three children, our daughter just started college, our son is a high school freshman, and our younger son is in 7th grade. My grandmother used to groom dogs and she also loved cats, so I developed a fervent love for animals through her and I have passed this on to my children. I have always had a heart for animals’ needs and desires, knowing that we humans are their voice. I will always work for and advocate for them in any way I can. I carry a leash in my car just in case I see a stray dog and I have returned dozens of dogs to their homes throughout the years. I have found a few dogs and cats that were not chipped and I have found great homes for all of them!

After graduating from Indiana University, I worked at Spalding University as a director of development. Once I had children, I decided to stay at home with them and am heavily involved in volunteer activities with their schools and sports teams. I have plenty of time to spend giving your animals the attention they want and deserve while you are gone. They are all precious and will provide excellent care to your standards. I had a cat who had diabetes from age 9 on (he lived to 16,) so I have given insulin shots, as well as many different types of medications over the years. I am meticulous and double-check everything to make sure that they are safe and comfortable, as well as ensuring your home is secure.

Hi, my name is Liz, and I love animals. Growing up in Kansas City, I and my family always had furry family members. So, I have been taking care of pets from a very young age. In fact, now, it’s difficult for me to imagine a home life without pets.

I moved to Louisville in 1993 to attend college, love the city, and simply never left. I now work as a claim adjuster for Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance, but my pet family, at home, is of profound importance to me. I currently have a gray Tabby, named Tom-Tom. He was rescued eight years ago from a local park where he was found homeless. Today, he is a huge comfort as I overcome my grief over the loss of one of my dogs. I lost Woody to cancer in December of 2016.

In addition to my experience of caring for Tom-Tom and Woody, I have rescued five other puppies over the years from various unsavory situations and cared for them in my home as family. I loved caring for all of these animals, playing with them, and watching them learn and grow over time. I wish I could give all needy pets a home.

As I contemplate the notion of extending my pet-care skills to others, I want to thank you in advance for the opportunity to care for your pets. I am committed to making sure your pet’s comfort and happiness is my first priority, and I look forward to working with you to that end.

Hi! My name is Marie, I’ve lived in Kentucky my entire life. I am a Louisville native and currently reside in Shepherdsville. I am a graduate of the University of Louisville. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in accounting. I am a full-time Sales and Use Tax Specialist at Yum Brands. My real passion resides with animals.

I have a strong passion for animals of all sorts. Growing up, I loved being around animals. We had a guinea pig, two cat, and a dog. After I graduated college I adopted my first pup. My husband and I then adopted one together. I am a believer that my passion has rubbed off on him because since then we have adopted three more. We have a chihuahua named Tank, a pitbull named Lexi, a pitbull/boxer named Jax, and a chihuahua named Lola. I am also a proud dog foster mom. Everyone who knows me, knows my passion for animals. I currently have a husky mix that is 11 years old as well as take care of a full blooded Siberian Husky. They are not just my furbabies but my family. I love spending time with my babies and give them all the love that they give to me as well. They love their walks and I love being outdoors with them.

Hi! My name is Jenn and I have a HUGE love for all animals.

I may work my normal day being a Claims Adjuster for Kentucky Farm Bureau, but my true passion is my family and ANIMALS! I am the mother of 2 great kids. My husband, Phil, and I have 2 dogs that are truly part of our family. We have had Yogi since he was a baby and adopted Rufus as a rescue. My daughter and I volunteer at The Humane Society and enjoy giving the animals love and attention. We also have a passion for pigs. YEP! PIGS! We recently delivered a trunk load of pumpkins to Uplands PEAK Sanctuary in Salem, IN. They were so happy and the pigs and goats had quite a treat. They love to eat pumpkins. Pigs are actually a lot like dogs. Guess that’s why I love them so.

In addition to my love for dogs and pigs, all of my life I have been fascinated by marine life. I actually wanted to be a Marine Biologist (until I took my first chemistry class). Dolphin, whales, and sharks are a love of mine. It may seem odd for someone in Louisville, KY to be a passionate advocate against whale and dolphin captivity, but I love them. I support The Dolphin Project and the fight against the slaughter of dolphins in Taiji, Japan. I wish I could be on the front line as an advocate. Maybe someday….

I have been with Paws Pet Care for 3 years now and bring with me three years of experience with the Kentucky Humane Society and 25 years of being owned by cats and dogs alike. My day job is an auditor for a primary care office here in Louisville, but my true love is with animals. I have basic medical training, including injections and fluids as well as being CPR/First Aid certified. I also have reptile experience with a particular love for bearded dragons and snakes.

I am currently bossed around my house by my three cats Henry, Remus, and Jasper. All 3 are special needs from medical to behavioral. My particular interest with animals is cat behavior. I tend to be the “cat lady” of my friends and co-workers.

In my spare time, I enjoy collecting books, traveling, and serenading the empty room with my terrible renditions of Broadway tunes.

Hello! I’m Kaitlyn Whiteside and I am a Louisville native. Currently I am the Content Editor for a job recruitment advertising company called Job Post Media.

I’ve been living on my own for over a year now after I bought my first condo, but before that I lived at home with my parents, brother, and our tuxedo cat Sophie. We always had cats growing up, so I admittedly have become a “cat person” but I love and have taken care of dogs, as well!

My main pet sitting experience has included staying overnight at my family and friends’ houses and taking care of their dogs and cats. I loved getting to snuggle and play with them, which included making up games to keep a Bullmastiff distracted from Fourth of July fireworks (true story-it was my aunt’s dog Brutus, and the game was called “Follow Me As I Take Laps Around The Living Room So You’re Not Focused On All The Scary Noises Outside”. Pretty fun, and it works. Highly recommend.)

I don’t currently have a cat of my own just yet, but I’m hoping that taking care of your furbabies will fill that void in the meantime. Rest assured that while you’re gone your pets will be safe, happy, and well cared for on my watch. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members soon!

My name is Brittany. To give you a brief backstory: I am recent to this community, having moved here in December of 2017, from a small town two hours west of here called Owensboro, KY. It was a wonderful area, but I was seeking to expand and broaden my surroundings. I have an endless passion for caring for all things. My daughter, Emma, who is six years old, being at the top of that list, along with three cats and one doggo of my own. They all make my life completely fulfilled. We live in an adorable home built in 1948 with lots of character.

Upon arrival in my new area, I took the first job opportunity that I landed, working in a communications center, I stabilized my income, and then familiarized myself with my new foundation. Now that I feel completely comfortable and am ready to move forward with my plan of action on my life journey, I am looking forward to loving and caring for your sweet and precious pets. And, I am unbelievably ecstatic to do so. My favorite things consist of running, yoga, writing, painting, photography (music and art completely move me), and chasing/guiding my little human through her days. It’s a beautiful thing seeing the world through her eyes. She keeps me the best version of myself in countless aspects. We grow, together, to become more caring, compassionate, genuine, and kind. She keeps me present and connected.

I am on my feet and stay very active and I love every minute of it. I am dedicated, adaptable, and am very attentive to detail and I excel in organizational skills. This helps me to maintain a productive and flexible schedule, both at work and in my home life.
